I recently discovered that those cute little ladybirds I have been photographing in my backyard are actually pests. Named the '28 Spotted Potato Ladybirds', these little guys feed on the leaves of potatoes, pumpkins, melons and other leafy crops.

How on earth did you get that bug to stand still for you? Incredible focus! If I had to choose between the melons and this guy, it would be a tough choice.
